Biography
I am Matthew Amway, PT, and I specialize in orthopedic physical therapy and return-to-sport rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. My physical therapy practice focuses on helping patients recover from a variety of orthopedic injuries, but most enjoy knee, ankle, and shoulder injury rehabilitation, so that they can safely return to the activities that matter most to them.
I provide individualized rehabilitation programs designed to improve movement, restore function and support long-term recovery. I work with patients of all activity levels, from recreational athletes to those seeking to regain mobility and confidence in their daily lives. My approach emphasizes evidence-based care, patient education and collaboration to help each patient achieve their goals.
I am a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. My clinical interests include the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic injuries, return-to-sport progression and optimizing performance through comprehensive rehabilitation.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Matthew Amway has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
