About Me
I am a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. I always take the time to thoroughly understand each patient’s concerns and expectations. I provide clear explanations of the diagnosis and treatment options, which can range from nonoperative solutions to minimally invasive arthroscopic or open surgeries for patients of all ages.
I’m passionate about alleviating my patients’ pain and improving their function. Whether they’re dealing with a recent injury or a chronic issue, I focus on understanding their specific goals and helping them return to the activities they love.
I’ve had the privilege of serving as a team physician for athletes at all levels, including time spent working with the New York Giants, and now, with the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. These experiences continue to shape the way I care for every patient. Whether the patient is a high school or college athlete, a weekend warrior or someone simply looking to move through daily life with less pain, I provide thoughtful, personalized care that aligns with their unique needs. I deliver the same level of attention and expertise to each patient so they can return to their sport, activity or routine with confidence.
I am deeply committed to patient care, research and education, and I’m proud to be back in my hometown, caring for the Columbus community at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The collaborative, team-based culture, combined with a shared commitment to tackling the most complex problems, makes it a special place to practice. My role also includes helping to educate future physicians as an associate clinical professor of Orthopaedics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
When I’m not in the clinic or operating room, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing tennis and hiking.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr Rauck was confident, professional, and informative, while making me feel safe and cared about. He was polite, and explained in detail my options. He knew my medical history, obviously having taken the time to review my complicated record. He also did another X-ray just prior to the visit so that my recommendation was based on the freshest information. That meant a lot to me. I really felt like I was in good hands. His resident was also very thorough and pleasant.

Very knowledgeable
Dr. Rauck asked how I was feeling but did not ask any questions about how I was doing physically handling daily tsks nor convey what to expect /time frames for expected capabilities. Guess they don't care and leave that to the PT to answer and assume the patient will be kept in the loop.
