PosterPresentationThe Military Medicine Program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides our nation’s wounded warriors with a level of care coordination and expertise in treating combat injuries not found elsewhere.

If you and your family decide that we might be the solution to your complex medical needs, we’ll also make sure you have the financial and emotional support to embark on this journey of recovery.

We do that in three main ways:

  1. Travel and housing – We work with benevolent partners (listed below) to arrange funding for travel and accommodation for service members getting treatment here, as well as their families.
  2. Coordination of care – The generous donors of a major academic health center and The Ohio State University allow us to provide administrative support, efficient care coordination and ancillary services to our combat-injured veterans free of charge.
  3. Clinical care – We are an in-network provider for TRICARE and we work collaboratively with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure appropriate coverage for the medical care we provide.

Organizations that help us provide these much-needed services

Several nonprofits across the country work with our Military Medicine Program to ensure conflict-injured service members receive the care they need to thrive in their lives post-combat.

They include:

  • Semper Fi & America’s Fund – This organization seeks to care for our nation’s critically wounded and ill service members, veterans and families by providing help with housing, transportation and caregiver support while medical issues are treated.
  • U.S. Special Operations Command Care Coalition – Its mission is to provide advocacy to service members after life-changing events to help them navigate through recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration as smoothly as possible.
  • Veterans Airlift Command – This nonprofit provides free air transportation to combat-wounded service members and their families for medical or other purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.
