Julie has been serving Columbus City Schools as an athletic trainer since 2006, currently responsible for the care of athletes at Marion-Franklin and Eastmoor Academy High Schools. She works as an athletic trainer for the Tournament of Champions wrestling event at the Columbus Convention Center as well as soccer tournaments, track and field events, the Columbus Classic Rugby Tournament and football all-star games. She has worked at the high school level as well as for the Chillicothe Paints of the Frontier Baseball League, where she was named Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2001. Each summer she works with the Columbus Comets women’s professional football team and helps with athletic training coverage for the Mid-Ohio Jets men’s minor league football team. Julie is also a licensed massage therapist and a member of Ohio Sports Massage. Julie received Outstanding Sports Massage Achiever for the Ohio Sports Massage in 2008. She has also provided massage therapy for USA Rugby, Ballet Met and IronMan events and has worked as a special duty EMT at Scioto Downs, Columbus Crew, Columbus Motor Speedway, as a member of the Harrison Fire Department. Her clinical interests include acute care of the injured athlete and how to improve medical care for adolescent athletes.
