Luan Phan is an international leader in the neuroscience of emotion, anxiety and traumatic stress. He uses brain imaging to discover targets for treatments and to better understand how treatments work, and for whom. He completed his undergraduate studies, medical school, psychiatry residency and research fellowship at the University of Michigan. Prior to coming to Ohio State, Dr. Phan was on the faculties of the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Michigan and the University of Chicago. His research has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health for the past 15 years. He has over 250 peer-reviewed publications and is a Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
