As an academic health center, the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center has always had a dedicated connection to teaching and learning alongside active clinical care. We offer two accredited nurse residency programs:
- The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute nurse residency program
- Buckeye Nurse Residency through The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Both accredited residency programs offer newly graduated nurses the opportunity to learn side by side with dedicated nurse educators. We’re committed to helping you build on your undergraduate training in a supportive environment.

We help you thrive as you transition from new graduate to professional nurse. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center offers a general health system track, and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (The James) offers an oncology track and a critical care oncology track. Perioperative nurse residency tracks can also be found in each of these programs. Each residency lasts six months to one year.
Our nurse residency programs in Columbus, Ohio, provide not only a robust curriculum but also opportunities for professional growth as well as camaraderie with other new nurses who, like you, will be transitioning to practice at one of the largest and most diverse academic health centers in the country.
