About Me
I am a diagnostic radiologist and nuclear medicine physician with extensive expertise in various imaging techniques. I specialize in diagnosing and treating various diseases and malignancies. I stay up to date on the latest advancements in my field to deliver the best care possible for my patients, which includes using new isotopes and innovative measures to treat prostate, neuroendocrine, thyroid and adrenal cancers with minimal side effects.
It’s a privilege to use my skills and knowledge to bring healing, and my patients’ needs always come first. I provide the high quality, compassionate care that all patients and their families should expect and deserve. Direct patient care is deeply rewarding, and I enjoy collaborating with other multidisciplinary experts to ensure each person receives the best treatment possible.
As a young student, I was fascinated by how different parts of the body worked together. I was even more intrigued by how radiation technologies allow us to intervene when things are going wrong. Nuclear medicine allows me to see and treat those issues and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about supporting research efforts that work to improve care quality. My interests include reducing side effects from cancer therapies, as well as novel radiotracer applications, advancing imaging techniques including prostate and breast cancer, and strategies to improve global health.
My experience has included projects to expand access to quality care in rural African communities. I helped create a sustainable women's health system in West Africa and introduced novel nuclear medicine techniques in Ghana.
Additionally, I helped establish a global health program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine that allows medical students to craft healthcare solutions in West Africa. I am also an assistant clinical professor of Radiology. It’s a privilege to mentor the next generation of physicians and help them achieve their goals.
I am involved in several organizations here at Ohio State. I am a member of the Radiation Safety and Quality Committee, the University Radiation Safety Committee, the Department of Radiology Radiation Safety & Quality Committee, and the Medical Use Committee.
In my free time, I enjoy learning about history about watching documentaries about ancient Egypt.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Appiah-Kubi has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
