About Me
I’m triple board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), interventional pain medicine and electrodiagnostic medicine. I earned my medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and completed my residency in PM&R and fellowship in interventional pain medicine at The Ohio State University. During my residency, I also earned my master’s in business administration at the Ohio State Fisher College of Business.
As a specialist with a clinical interest in interventional pain and spine medicine, I see patients with a multitude of issues that relate to their neck, back or joints. At the Ohio State Comprehensive Spine Center, I work closely with our spine surgeons and medical spine specialists to make sure our patients can rapidly get the care they need. Additionally, I’m a faculty member in our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program and the associate director of Ohio State’s Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship. My research objectives are to focus on ways we, as interventional pain physicians, can improve the way we select patients for therapeutic options and improve outcomes.
My ultimate goal is to help my patients get back to the activities that help them live the most fulfilling lives. I focus mostly on interventional modalities and non-opioid treatments with an added emphasis on exercise and appropriate self-care as ways to manage pain.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, three children and our small dog, Henry. I also enjoy traveling and an occasional round of golf.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2022, Dr. Vallabh has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Professional, made to feel comfortable.
He is very knowledgeable and compassionate. I have confidence in his abilities.
Answered question gave good advise on what should be done moving forward
Dr. Vallabh was cold, talked down to me, and did not answer any of my questions with confidence. I left feeling like I wasted my time and there was no resolution.
Always have very good experiences
Fantastic
Dr. Valabh is amazing! He answered all of my questions and went into great detail to explain the procedure that I was going to schedule at the end of the visit. I know he's very busy and hard to get an appointment with, so I really appreciate it how much time he spent with me answering all of my questions
The doctor was very personable, spent adequate time with me, and gave me explanations I could understand, as well as reassurance, and provided expectations for the future of my condition.
Good
My experience with my care provider was excellent.
Excellent
Professional knowledgeable experienced. Communication skills are excellent. Always keeps patients informed.
Attentive, knowledgeable, caring
Excellent, professional.
Extremely knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, easy to understand. Good bedside manners.
Answered all my questions in easy to understand language.
We are by pleased to have found this provider, who is knowledgeable and desiring to help me in my health state of my back injury, while on going of chemotherapy. We appreciate his assistance.
I was initally seen by a resident/fellow who had an excellent bedise manner, listened attentively, and recommended a course of action that I felt fully addfressed the reason for my visit. Unfortunately, Dr. Vallabh, although personable, seemed somewhat dismissive (of me and the resident/fellow). I feel that Dr. Vallabh relied too heavily on a reference in my chart (to possible fibromyalgia, from a military doctor 30 years ago) and didn't give sufficient consideration or wieght to contemporary pain issues.
