About Me

As a family physician, I believe in providing care that is patient-centered, evidence-based and focuses on primary prevention of illness as the root of health. My role allows me to build long-lasting relationships with patients and their families in which I can see changes over time to ensure my patients' needs are being met. With each case, I try to provide cost-conscious and cost-efficient patient care.

I joined the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2019. Here at Ohio State, I am privileged to work with world-class physicians and educators who help make a positive impact on all my patients. Additionally, my patients have access to outstanding resources in the Ohio State network such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, pharmacy and social work.

Besides providing excellent primary care to patients, I work with medical students as a volunteer at an Ohio State clinic where I provide personal instruction and supervision.

I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay area but have lived in Columbus for seven years. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, golfing, watching Cal football, traveling and spending time with my wife Shauna (a pediatrician at Nationwide Children's Hospital) and young daughter.

Dr Schord spent a lot of time with me and was very thorough in addressing my concerns and reviewing all preventative healthcare I should be completing. He had reviewed my chart the night before my appointment, including reading notes from another clinic I attend. I felt very confident that he was providing me with the best care and his communication with me was great.
