About Me

I am a pulmonary physician specializing in caring for patients with conditions that make breathing difficult. While I treat all conditions that affect the lungs, I have particular expertise in chronic airway diseases including severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and the genetic disorder alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

As medical director of the Pulmonary Function Testing lab at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I oversee all examinations, such as lung function and exercise testing. I also lead the Pulmonary Transition Program at Ohio State East Hospital. My team and I provide transitional care for patients who have been hospitalized for lung conditions and connect them to outpatient pulmonary resources in a timely fashion.

Breathing difficulties can be deeply distressing, and my patients can rely on me for support. My goal is to help patients manage their symptoms and achieve a higher quality of life, no matter the complexity of their lung conditions. I am dedicated to delivering exceptional care and I am continually inspired by my patients’ unique journeys. I am honored to have been named to Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors for Pulmonary Disease” list multiple years in a row.

Over the years, my patient care has inspired my work as a clinician-scientist. My research focuses on how factors like diet and air pollution influence the overall health of patients with chronic respiratory diseases. I am currently investigating why asthma and COPD tend to be more common and severe among women.

I have received multiple awards to advance my research, including the Women's Lung Health Disparities grant from the American College of Chest Physicians. I earned an Early Career Investigator grant from the American Lung Association. I also received a Patient Care Innovation Award, which funds the Pulmonary Transition Program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

I am also proud to help educate the next generation of physicians as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine in the Ohio State College of Medicine. I was recognized for my work with advanced learners when I received the Fellowship Education Award from the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
