Biography
As a neurologist and as the medical director of Neurology Specialty Clinics here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I’m passionate about delivering exceptional care that makes a positive difference in our patients’ lives. I helped create and operationalize more than 20 multidisciplinary and subspecialty neurology clinics designed to provide comprehensive care and access to multiple subspecialty experts during a single visit. We are committed to improving outcomes, strengthening communication between teams, and enhancing quality of life, all while providing convenience for patients and caregivers.
I specialize in treating patients with epilepsy and I offer advanced therapies such as deep brain stimulation and vagus nerve stimulation. I am the lead physician of the Epilepsy Pregnancy Clinic, the Epilepsy Transition Clinic, and the Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Event Clinic.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am involved in national and international efforts to advance care for all patients with epilepsy. I am on the board of My Epilepsy Story, a nonprofit organization that empowers women and girls with epilepsy. I’m an active member of the Epilepsy from Childbearing Age to Menopause Consortium, an international group of scientists and clinicians working to improve care for women with epilepsy. I’m also part of the American Epilepsy Society and I am often invited to discuss my expertise at national conferences.
My role includes helping to educate the next generation of physicians. I am an associate clinical professor of Neurology in The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I also serve as co-chair of the Women in Medicine and Science Events Subcommittee at the college.
