About Me
I’m a board-certified pathologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where I specialize in anatomic and clinical pathology. My role focuses on diagnosing diseases by examining tissues and other bodily fluids—providing critical insights that help guide treatment decisions—particularly for patients with gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreaticobiliary conditions, including those undergoing liver transplantation. My research focuses on pancreaticobiliary and liver pathology, microsatellite instable tumors, and computer-aided diagnostics and prognostication.
I am committed to delivering accurate, timely, and compassionate diagnostic care. Behind every test result is a patient and a story, and I work closely with physicians and care teams to ensure each diagnosis supports the best possible outcome.
I earned my medical degree from Beijing Medical University and completed my PhD at Oregon State University. My residency and fellowship training were completed at Ohio State, where I now serve as a clinical professor in the Department of Pathology.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Chen has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
