About Me
I became a primary care provider because I am passionate about helping my patients achieve their health goals and improve their quality of life. In my role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I perform routine health screenings and treat chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, thyroid issues and enlarged prostate. I am also board certified in osteopathic manipulation and can help treat musculoskeletal conditions.
When patients come to see me, they can expect an empathetic and compassionate approach. I always work directly with my patients to find treatment solutions tailored to fit their goals and values. Imam al-Shafi’i, a famous classical Muslim jurist, once said, “I’m not aware of anything after [Islamic knowledge] more noble than the knowledge of medicine.” What drives me is that by practicing medicine, I am continuing this noble art to serve my community.
The Ohio State University is a large, modern institution with state-of-the-art resources that enable advanced patient care, and I am thrilled to continue my career here. I also appreciate that as an academic facility, working physicians can take part in something bigger than themselves by getting involved in research projects. I am excited about participating in research that can help move medicine forward.
When I’m not working, I love playing with and teaching my two toddlers. When I have a minute to myself, I like to split my time between growing spiritually and learning about my Islamic faith and growing physically by trying to challenge myself in bodyweight fitness or playing soccer.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Excellent, a caring smart doctor
I was in tears at the end of my visit because I felt I FINALLY someone who took my concern seriously and has taken the steps to get this problem solved, blood tests etc.
My doctor was exceptional. He spent a lot of time with me discussing my condition and was very understanding. He even got a same day dermatology consult for my skin condition.
He had the best bedside manner. He treated with true concern OSU is lucky to have him.

Wonderful
This was my first visit with Dr. Soomro, and I wanted to establish him as my primary care physician. He was very friendly and thoughtful. He was thorough in trying to gain an understanding of my health history and physical well being.
Exceptional care: clerks, nurses, & doctor!
Dr. Soomroo is very kind, patient, and understanding
I am so excited about finding Dr. Soomra. He spent so much time going over my chart/medication/history. I immediately came home & scheduled an appointment for my daughter to see Dr. Soomra.
Was very professional, sincere, courteous, empathetic, thorough wonderful disposition!
No bad experience. He was attentive and had good manor.
Dr. Soomro was awesome, very friendly, smart, and patient. Gave me his full time and attention setting me up as a new patient, looked through my medical history, noticed missing vaccines and tests that needed done, and took all my health concerns seriously.
Good
He was kind and understanding, he didn't seem to be in a rush to go to his next appointment. He appeared to be concerned for my wellbeing.
He was very helpful and explained things very well.
First visit. Very comfortable already
I don't think he listened or understood problem
He was really nice And understanding.
Nurse and doctor both left me in exam room for extended period of time despite visit having been concluded. I was scolded when I left room before nurse came to escort me out. I was terribly ill with symptoms and wanted to get home. Delay was unnecessary as I already had discharge instructions (which were basically nothing).
Overall very good but left not knowing what I really have. He was going to follow up but he hasn't yet after a week. I finally messaged him to follow up with him.
