Biography
I am a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric mental health care. At the Behavioral Health Urgent Care at The Ohio State University, my practice focuses on helping patients navigate emotional and behavioral health concerns through compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care.
My decision to pursue a career in healthcare was grounded in a desire to support individuals during some of the most vulnerable and uncertain moments of their lives. Throughout my nursing career, I have been drawn to the opportunity to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while helping patients feel seen, heard, and safe. To me, this means approaching patients and their families with respect, kindness, authenticity, and trustworthiness.
My ICU background has given me a strong foundation in recognizing distress, navigating crisis, and supporting people through difficult experiences. Working in high-acuity and emotionally intense situations has strengthened my ability to remain calm, present, and grounded during moments of crisis. It has also taught me the importance of clear communication, therapeutic presence, and recognizing that each person responds to trauma differently. My psychiatric practice allows me to extend that same commitment to safety and compassionate care to the mental and emotional dimensions of health. I believe that effective psychiatric care begins with a therapeutic relationship in which patients feel safe enough to be vulnerable, empowered to participate in their treatment, and supported throughout their healing journey.
I recognize that many individuals seeking psychiatric care have experienced trauma, loss, medical crises, or other circumstances that may influence how they experience healthcare and relationships with providers. My goal is to approach each patient with curiosity rather than judgment, prioritize their sense of safety and autonomy, and build trust through consistency, empathy, and collaboration.
Building authentic connections with my patients is at the center of my approach. I want each person to feel respected and understood as an individual, not simply as a diagnosis or condition. By listening carefully and collaborating with patients on their goals, I provide personalized care that emphasizes validation, hope, and meaningful progress.
