About Me

I chose to become a physician because I’m passionate about helping people improve their health and their quality of life. As a gastroenterologist, I specialize in treating disorders of the digestive track, as well as performing upper and lower endoscopies including those for colon cancer screenings.

My patients can rely on me as a partner in their health care journey. I take the time to listen to each patient’s concerns and empower them to take an active role in their GI care.

I chose to remain in academic medicine because it allows me to pursue two passions: helping patients improve their health and educating the next generation of physicians. It’s a privilege to be back at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and have the opportunity to mentor medical students, residents and fellows.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing with my dog. I also like hiking and traveling.

Dr Hooper spent a lot of time addressing my concerns and was very knowledgeable. I have been treated by several doctors for gastroparesis for over 10 years and Dr Hooper explained things that other doctors were failing to explain. He spent as much time as was needed explaining my options for a colonoscopy and how those options would work with my healthcare.

He was wonderful as always. I really feel like he hears my concerns and makes treatment plans that are easy to follow. I usually have a lot of questions and he takes the time to answer them throughly or follows up with me if need be.
