About Me

I chose to become a physician because I’m passionate about helping people improve their health and their quality of life. As a gastroenterologist, I specialize in treating disorders of the digestive track, as well as performing upper and lower endoscopies including those for colon cancer screenings.

My patients can rely on me as a partner in their health care journey. I take the time to listen to each patient’s concerns and empower them to take an active role in their GI care.

I chose to remain in academic medicine because it allows me to pursue two passions: helping patients improve their health and educating the next generation of physicians. It’s a privilege to be back at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and have the opportunity to mentor medical students, residents and fellows.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing with my dog. I also like hiking and traveling.

I had a bad experience with a previous gastroenterologist, so Dr Hooper was a significant step up. He took care of all the concerns that I had and I feel like moving forward I have a physician that can guide me in my disease management.

The doctor seemed a little rushed, but this is my experience with all the specialists I visited. My clinical doctor, however, took her time to examine me and gave me time to think about any other questions I may have. This does not happen when I visit specialists, and this time was the same. I regret how rushed they are overall.
