About Me
As a certified nurse practitioner at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in treating adult patients with gastrointestinal conditions. I regularly care for patients experiencing issues including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), heartburn, GERD, dysphagia, constipation and gastroparesis.
My patients can trust that I will work with them to find customized solutions to ease their chronic GI issues. Here at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, we are committed to providing evidence-based care to optimize patient outcomes and it’s a privilege to be part of such a wonderful team.
When I’m not working, I like to spend time outside with my husband and pets. I also enjoy gardening, cooking and quilting.

Dr. Benton is phenomenal. I've seen a lot of gastro doctors - and she's the best. She's thorough, communicates well, and responsive.
I saw Ms. Benton who is the nurse practitioner who works w/Dr. Rhiel. Everyone is top notch.
I always get excellent care from Andrea Benton, she's friendly and pays attention to what I have to say
I've been having trouble getting proper treatment for my condition. The provider says that my particular pain is not possible with my condition, even though other providers have suggested evidence to the contrary. Additionally, I was suggested expensive supplements to try to treat my condition, even though I had already been advised by my pcp to try similar techniques/ supplements, and they did not work. I am seeing very little progress on my treatment for my condition. I feel like the provider is either inexperienced, or not taking my condition seriously.
