Biography
I love my job as a gastroenterologist because it is deeply rewarding to be able to use my knowledge and experience to help my patients achieve a higher quality of life. In my role with the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, I commonly treat inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s diseases. I also see adults for issues including celiac disease, colonic polyps, constipation and diarrhea, and I perform colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures.
When patients come to see me, they can always expect a personalized and compassionate approach. I find great joy in learning everything I can about my patients and their families, not only about the conditions that afflict them, but about their interests and goals in life. It’s a privilege to build lasting relationships with each patient as we work together to find solutions that work best for them.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about advancing gastrointestinal research that allows us to offer even better care for our patients. My own research has focused on inflammatory bowel disease, including the psychosocial factors that impact adolescents with IBD as they grow into adulthood. I have also explored strategies to prevent hospital readmission in patients with decompensated cirrhosis.
When I’m not working, I love spending quality time with my family, my church community and my dog. I enjoy horseback riding, running and cheering on all our Buckeye athletic teams!

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

I love Dr Pusitari. She is so caring, easy to talk to, and compassionate. I never feel like she rushes through our appointment
Very caring, a listener and kind, which is important
As for the doctor, although this is the first time I've met them, they were as motivated and kind as Dr Chiplunker, and did my ultrasound testing the best way possible by balancing getting results with avoiding causing active pain.
They were very knowledgeable and understanding
Smart
