Biography
As a family medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in disease management, preventive medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, contraception education and women’s health. I treat patients with a myriad of conditions including anxiety, depression, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis and osteoarthritis. I also provide joint injections, mole removal, pap smears and endometrial biopsies, along with other minor procedures.
I have always wanted to work in family medicine and am happy to have found my calling in life. I love my job and my patients; it’s a privilege to take care of patients and their families. I enjoy taking care of the entire patient, not just treating symptoms, and providing as much preventative care as possible. I’m very interested in how family dynamics can affect a person’s health.
My favorite part about working at Ohio State is the wealth of resources available, including a wide range of specialists for my patients. Additionally, The Department of Family and Community Medicine provides great support for my professional goals. I also enjoy helping medical students throughout the process of medical school, especially nontraditional students.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking.

I came to OSU because my husband was a resident at Harding in the Department of Psychiatry. We intended to be here for three years and then move back to my hometown which is Wheeling, WV. However, we fell in love with Columbus and OSU and twenty years and two kids later, we are still here and happy. I have always practiced in the Gahanna location and am proud to be part of Outpatient Care Gahanna. I was the lead physician here for ten years and helped to plan the layout of our current office. I was the director of the Mentorship Program in the past. I received the Excellence in Teaching Award from Family Medicine in 2010.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. Dr petri is always helpful and willing to listen.
Dr. Petri-Pickstone is amazing. All of my appointments start out the same. She asks me how I am doing from a holistic approach and then we talk about why I was in to see her. We go over my medications, any past health issues and any current ones. She is very methodical in her approach and we go over optional ways in which to approach any outstanding issues. She works so well in concert with my specialists, making sure that any medication additions or withdrawals are not going to be disadvantageous to my health. Likewise, she is always prepared to defer to my other physicians if she is concerned about interventions causing negative outcomes. She makes me feel as though I am her one and only patients which is pretty amazing to me.

Absolutely the best! I've been seeing her 20+ years. We have a marvelous doctor patient relationship which only adds to her ability to care for me.
My foot has hurt for almost a year, but I never mentioned it to Dr. Petri. I showed it to her and she said I have a high arch and need supportive shoes or orthotics. I went straight from her office to CVS and used Dr Scholl's foot machine thing and got arch supports my foot. My foot felt just fine immediately. I'm so thankful for her expertise to see that and help me out.

Dr. Petri was excellent. She has great communication skills as well as listening skills. She is patient and caring. When I mentioned an issue that I was having for over a year she sent me to x-ray. There she found a new issue with the x-ray finding I had osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease in the lower lumbar vertebrae and tail bone. She prescribed physical therapy and recommend continue with exercise, Alendronate, and PT.
I love my Dr Petri, she has been my wife's Doctor for years and is so smart, thoughtful and a great listener. Dr Petri has been able to get my blood pressure down when my other doctors have failed. I feel lucky to have her on my team!

Dr. Petri is always very thorough with questions and the exam. She listens to everything I say and If she needs more information, she asks very pointed questions. Because I have been experiencing issues with my knee and it's one I have had multiple surgeries on, Dr. Petri ordered xrays, MRI, and referred me to a Sports Medicine physician for further evaluation. As I said, Dr. Petri is always very thorough!

My OSU providers are thorough and will ask me several times if I have any questions. I don't feel rushed. I use My chart which I find very helpful. I've used that in the past for questions that are not urgent and appreciated the response. I have recommended my doctors to friends.

She didn't give me a complete physical exam such as checking my heart, ears, nose, and throat as well as abdomen area. She reviewed my medical history and medication list with me. Then rushed me to get the bloodwork done before they closed the lab. I am not happy with this. Granted she was behind on schedule with her patients. It appeared I was her last patient in late afternoon which the office closed at 5 pm.
Always amazing and wanted to do all she could to help me. She's looking for reasons, not just trying to cover up the symptoms.
