I am a board-certified endocrinologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in treating complex endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, and metabolic bone conditions.
My patients can rely on me for comprehensive, compassionate care and clear communication. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans that support long-term health and quality of life.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I serve as an associate professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where I am passionate about education and advancing endocrine care.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. Dr. O'Donnell is an exceptional endocrinologist - and I have had many over the past 10 years. He is very attentive and really listens to what I have to share without judgment.
I am so happy I was able to see Dr. O'Donnell. He truly feels like a godsend. I've only ever had two doctors in my 37 years of life who have actually listened and validated my health concerns. Dr. O'Donnell is one of those doctors. I can't say enough nice things about him and his professionalism.
I've been seeing Dr O'Donnell for almost 10 years now for thyroid nodules and for two cases of amiodarone induced hyperthyroidism (amiodarone prescribed by electrophysiologists for PVCs and AFib). Dr O'Donnell has always been very thorough in his thyroid examinations and treatments plans, and has been very patient with me and my many questions. My visits with him have been great learning experiences.Dr O'Donnell is a TOP DOCTOR and ENDOCRINOLOGIST and also a great person !

Dr. O'Donnell was awesome. Coming to an appointment to discuss something that's been emotional/uncomfortable- he was very disarming and easy to talk to. You could tell he wants to help his patients. I am excited to continue to work with him.

The doctor and his assistant doctor took their time and did everything they needed to do to see what was best for what I was there for and went through everything with me and listened to all my concerns and explained everything to me very well to me about my condition and took their time and didn't rush through the visit

Dr O'Donnell is the best physician I have had. I have been a patient of his for almost 10 years. Even though I only see him once a year for routine check, I feel like he personally knows and cares for me. He always asks good questions or shares suggestions to help better my health. I would be devastated if he left Ohio state!

He's a careful listener and had clearly read my records before entering the office. I felt he was well prepared and took his time answering my questions. My only complaint is how long it to to get my first appointment and to have the follow up. I seems like OSU is trying to get too many patients through the system (like a crowded cattle shute).

This was my first visit with this Dr specifically to have a biopsy done. He was obviously very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things to me. Also he was friendly and showed concern for my comfort and for my condition. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing an endocrinologist.

Dr O'Donnell has been my endocrinologist since 2016. He has been monitoring me for thyroid nodules and hyperthyroidism (amiodarone induced). He is a TOP doctor: always polite, informative, and patient with my many questions. He has also coordinated treatments in the past with my cardiologist and electrophysiologist. He also frequently communicates with me on MyChart messaging when I have questions. I'm pleased to have him as one of my specialists and would recommend him very highly.

Dr. O'Donnell has consistently impressed me with his knowledge about treatments, especially as it relates to my bariatric surgery. I also very much appreciate the time he spends with me. I've never felt rushed nor ignored due to time constraints.
The doctor was awesome. He was very personable and fun to talk to. He asked what I did for a living and once I told him I was a veterinary anesthesiologist he spoke to me in more medical terminology and even showed me the ultrasound images of the nodule and the other adjacent anatomy. Very nice and normal guy, probably one of the most down to earth docs I've ever seen.
