Biography
I’m an allergy and immunology physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I chose this specialty because of the opportunity to treat a variety of people. I love that I can help improve a patient’s quality of life by treating routine conditions like seasonal allergies and food-related symptoms, while also getting to diagnose and care for patients with recurrent infections and complex immunological disorders.
My patients can expect inclusive, individualized and compassionate care when they come to see me. I ensure each patient understands all their options thoroughly before proceeding with a care plan and I provide the most innovative, evidence-based treatments available. Our field is changing fast thanks to advancements in genetic testing and biologic treatments. I love being at an academic medical center where we are up to date on medical breakthroughs and can provide these options for our patients. Our Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery has the most positive, friendly and fun doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and medical secretaries you will find anywhere. All of us love to work with each other, and this translates to cohesive, compassionate care for our patients.
I’m actively involved in research efforts to find more effective and patient-friendly methods of immunotherapy, including intralymphatic immunotherapy. I’m also passionate about improving processes to eliminate unnecessary drug allergies from patients’ allergy lists. During medical school, I was inducted into the Landacre Honor Society for my research and was honored to receive the Chrysalis Project scholarship from a national allergy organization. There is an energy toward learning and growing at The Ohio State University, not only for students, but for the researchers and health care professionals who continually work toward scientific breakthroughs that benefit our community and people around the world.
I also enjoy educating the next generation of physicians. I’m currently involved with the allergy/immunology interest group at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and serve as a mentor. In addition, as a physician volunteer with the Columbus Free Clinic, I supervise and mentor medical students who are passionate about providing frontline care to patients who otherwise would lack access to quality health care.
I’m very passionate about community service and I was proud to be recognized with the Commitment to Service Award from The Ohio State University. I also serve as a physician volunteer for the Medical Reserve Corp through Franklin County Emergency Management, where I respond to disasters within our community.
I’m also passionate about advocating for improved access to quality health care for everyone at both the local and national level. My experience in this area has included meeting with legislators to discuss strategies to reduce health care disparities. I continue to work through organizations such as the Ohio State Medical Association, American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology to work toward the goal of inclusive, accessible, high-quality health care.
I’m a Westerville native and love all the things central Ohio has to offer. When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking, running and cycling in our metro parks, attending community festivals, reading and listening to podcasts. I like trying new restaurants, breweries and distilleries. I also enjoy relaxing on my porch with my dog, cat and friends.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Brooks is the best. He always listens to me and makes sure he understands what my condition is.
Listens to my concerns
Great
The provider was an excellent communicator and described things in a simple easy to understand way.
Seemed a bit guarded but pleasant. He was rushed due to scheduling.
I couldn't have asked for a better provider. Dr Brook's care was exceptional. I felt comfortable during a very vulnerable moment of experiencing an allergic reaction. I recalled his telling me that I was in safe hands should anything occur prior to carryingout the medication test-challenge. From my initial encounter to the conclusion of it, I was very impressed. I.have an option to go to other clinics close by but have opted not to. Dr. Brooks made a huge difference!
Good experience
Very knowledgeable and listened to me and gave advice like his shadow he was interested in learning
Good
Excellent very good
They did everything right. They're just not able as yet to help fix my six year chronic health condition
Dr. Brooks seemed very knowledgeable however he didn't examine me or take a good look at the problem area. Made me feel like my problem wasn't being taken seriously. Thankfully the treatment helped.
Great at explaining things. Good listener. Helpful options.
Dr. Brooks is awesome
I felt dismissed due to having chronic illness and not fully listened to. He wouldn't call my POTS pots, he called it long covid and was dismissive of my concerns for MCAS due to basic blood work. I felt he did not like that I was Knowledgeable about the condition already
Dr. Brooks is the best. He is caring and very determined to assist whatever I need.
Excellent listener, took the time to understand my concerns and made sure I understood everything
Dr. Brooks is one of my 2 favorite doctors. He answers my questions about medications, explains factors that can affect my condition, renews my prescriptions, asks me questions, doesn't seem in a hurry, and is generally friendly.
The doctor was extremely kind and concerned about everything I told him. Very compassionate. One of the best doctors I have ever seen.
Dr. Brooks was amazing. He listened to me, recommended care but also allowed me to have a voice and decision in my healthcare. You can tell that he really cares about his patients, respects them, listens to their concerns, and doesn't make you feel rushed even though I'm sure with how excellent he is, that he has appts scheduled all day long. 10 out of 10
