About Me

I believe that people should have their care personalized to fit their needs and situation.

I specialize in orthopaedic sports medicine surgery for active people. I enjoy helping people develop, maintain or return to an active lifestyle.

What I’m most proud of at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is our program that addresses anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury treatment, prevention and outcomes. Our research program has resulted in numerous research publications that have helped shape the care of ACL injuries across the country.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and climbing mountains. I have climbed mountains in Ecuador, Peru, Japan, Tanzania, Switzerland and across the U.S.

Very satisfied with Dr Kaeding's concern for my specific injury and potential treatment options

I love Amber, Dr. Kaeding's scheduler. She is on top of it and super pleasant and personable. You can tell Amber likes her job, and people. Rare! Dr. Kaeding was exceptionally kind about my personal life (my brother had just recently passed) that came up in our exam. I can always count on him for GREAT medical care, but it was nice to feel like a human being and not just another number.

I was looking forward to my visit with Dr. Kaeding as he was highly recommended to me. I was very disappointed with the overall visit because Dr. Kaeding was running very late and it was obvious to me that he saw my visit as an opportunity to catch up on his schedule. He came in 33 minutes after his scheduled time and spent exactly 7 minutes with me. He delivered disconcerting news that the only thing that could solve my problem was a knee replacement, which is the first time I heard this from anyone. He asked if I had seen my xrays and I had not. I was left wondering how would I have possibly seen them? No one came in the room before me to go over them. He told me he was a surgeon and that he didn't do knee replacements. He did ask if I had any questions, but I was so blown away by his diagnosis that I needed a minute to regroup. But he was obviously in a hurry. He said that he would recommend I do gel injections and would refer me to his PA and also to another dr. for conservative treatment. It would have made all the difference in the world if he had slowed down and spent the time with me that I was most likely scheduled for. I can literally say I have never spent just 7 minutes with any dr. I have ever visited.
