Biography

As a dual-certified family and psychiatric nurse practitioner, I am passionate about providing exceptional care to patients with persistent and severe mental health conditions.

My job includes treating bipolar affective disorders and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. I work with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Early Psychosis Intervention Center (EPICENTER) and am a provider in the Clozapine Clinic for treatment-resistant schizophrenia. Working in an academic medical center, I also have interest in education and serve as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students at The Ohio State University College of Nursing.

In addition to offering exemplary clinical care and educational experiences, Ohio State is committed to innovative research opportunities and it is a privilege to be part of this innovation. My research is focused on enhancing the care we can offer to patients with schizophrenia. I am a principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple research projects involving patients with treatment-resistant schizophrenia including an exploratory analysis into the interaction between the immune and inflammatory systems and responses to treatment.

Additionally, I am excited and privileged to be involved in a state-funded program focused on expanding access to expert mental health care for individuals with psychosis in underserved areas across Ohio through creation of a model staffed with specialists who can deliver coordinated specialty care to patients earlier in the course of their illness.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exercising and reading.
