About Me
As a psychiatrist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I diagnose and treat patients with various conditions including bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and psychotic disorders. My approach is to treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. I coordinate with each member of the patient’s health care team to ensure they receive the most effective treatment possible.
My patients can rely on me for high-quality and compassionate care. I value building genuine relationships with each patient and always listen closely to their concerns and questions. Patients can also expect personalized treatments that are tailored to their unique needs and goals.
My previous experience has included providing psychiatric services in high-demand areas. I chose to return to academic medicine to help educate the next generation of psychiatrists and expand access to mental health care. I am an assistant clinical professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health in The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Nygren has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
