About Me
I chose to become a psychologist because helping people work through their mental health concerns is incredibly rewarding. I diagnose and treat patients for a range of conditions including psychotic disorders, schizophrenia and substance-use-related disorders. I use behavioral medicine and cognitive therapy, depending on the patient’s unique needs. I listen closely to my patients and work collaboratively with them so they can achieve personal, occupational, academic and social goals.
I was drawn to psychology because it allows me to engage in multiple areas. As a clinical psychologist, I enjoy providing clinical services that include individual and group psychotherapy. I also serve as a supervisor and educator for predoctoral-level interns who are training to become independent psychologists, and I am an assistant clinical professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health within The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Additionally, I contribute to research projects designed to enhance clinical intervention services offered within The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Clinical service, education, and research are all crucially important in providing effective, evidence-based mental health care.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Weiss has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
