Biography
I became an otolaryngologist because I’m passionate about diagnosing and treating patients for inner ear issues and helping to improve their quality of life. In my role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in cranial base surgery, and I commonly see patients for conditions including hearing loss, balance disorders, chronic middle ear disease, acute vestibular dysfunction and skull base tumors.
I prioritize shared decision-making with all my patients. When patients come to see me, they can trust that I’ll educate them about their diagnosis and treatment options and help them decide on the best path forward. I also try to avoid medical jargon and discuss complex medical topics in easy-to-understand terms.
My research is focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of patients with vestibular dysfunction. I’m especially interested in improving the treatment of dizziness and other clinical outcomes after acoustic neuroma treatment. My experience includes contributing to the first-in-human investigations of a vestibular implant designed to restore inner ear balance function. While this technology is still being investigated in clinical trials, I’m hopeful for its potential to help many people with inner ear balance disorders.
Here at Ohio State, there’s a perfect mix of clinical excellence, top-notch research and medical education that places our patient care at the leading edge. I appreciate the multidisciplinary approach and the commitment to collaboration, which enhances the care we can offer to our patients. Ohio State is an institution that drives medicine forward and I’m excited to be part of this team.
When I’m not working, I enjoy relaxing outdoors, spending time with my family and trying new restaurants.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
