About Me

I am a general, forensic and child and adolescent physiatrist specializing in suicidal and injurious behavior as well as psychiatric emergencies. As a forensic psychiatrist, I perform criminal and civil psychiatric interviews and evaluations for the judicial system. My areas of forensic interest include juvenile sex offenses, mental illness in the prison system, traumatic brain injury (TBI) and risk assessment. I have extensive experience with psychiatric evaluations and have been qualified as an expert witness in a wide variety of court cases.

In my clinical work I am primarily provide psychiatric emergency services for adults and adolescents and treat conditions including anxiety, mood disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders. I believe each of our patients at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center should be treated as a “VIP” with the utmost respect, and I strive to provide the same quality of treatment I would want for a member of my family. I am very passionate about my career as this is an extremely exciting time to be a psychiatrist.

I am fortunate to work at an academic medical center such as Ohio State, where my colleagues share my goal of bringing state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment to the psychiatric emergency services, where patients and their families are often in a vulnerable and distraught state.

When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with my family and my dog, Esmeralda.
