Biography

I am a gastroenterologist and therapeutic endoscopy specialist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I diagnose and treat patients with various digestive issues including biliary tract and gallbladder diseases, colonic polyps, esophageal motility disorders and gastroesophageal reflux. I offer my patients the most advanced minimally invasive endoscopic techniques with the goal of helping them achieve the best outcomes possible.

Gastrointestinal conditions are common and can negatively impact a person’s life. My aim is to help patients navigate their care experience with skill and compassion. I strongly advocate for shared decision-making with my patients, and I empower them to take an active role in their health. As an Ohio native, I’m excited for the opportunity to deliver high-quality care for patients in my home state.

I am committed to providing the highest level of care available, and I stay at the forefront of new innovations in gastrointestinal medicine. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, my research focuses on enhancing the use of novel endoscopic procedures to improve outcomes. My work has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences.

My role includes helping to educate the next generation of physicians. I am a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

The doctor showed his concern that I thoroughly understood all aspects of my condition. He made it clear he didn't want to add any additional worries to my already weighty state of health. He was very reassuring that what I was being seen for was presently at a watch and wait status.

Dr. Swei was excellent. He listened to my concerns and provided options for treatment, carefully explaining each option. My husband came to the appointment with me and we were both very impressed with Dr. Swei's knowledge and concern for my issues. He followed up with me on a consultation with another provider. This was my first visit with Dr. Swei and I will continue to seek care with him.
