Biography
As an interventional cardiologist, I specialize in complex coronary artery disease, valve disorders and chronic total occlusions of coronaries. I believe that medical care should be a team effort among the physician, medical staff, family and most importantly, the patient. I strive to provide individualized care that’s tailored specifically to my patients’ needs and do my best to simplify complex problems so they can make informed decisions about treatment plans. I’m motivated to positively influence the health and lives of others.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Ernest Mazzaferri has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

Good
Excellent.
Always good
Dr Mazzaferri is the best health care provider that I have ever seen.
Dr Mazzaferri was most calmly with my concerns which would lead to answering concerns I didn't know if I would have time to bring up, though I so wanted to. He gave me the encouragement to keep going. I felt healthier and happier when I left the room, and will continue with a more positive attitude than I might have otherwise had. I so appreciate his medical knowledge and encouraging ways.
Excellent- top of his field

Excellent. Experience
Personable. Easy to understand and talk to.
Dr. Mazzaferri is at the top of doctors - he is not only an excellent cardiologist, but is he is stellar with the way he cares for and about his patients. He listens, is respectful and kind
Great experience with the provider. Dr. M spent quality time with me. He was thorough and took his time. He cared about me and my family history. After listening, he communicated clear and logical next steps in a way that I could understand. He even walked me out of the office to the elevator. The best compliment I can come up with is I would want to be his friend. He seems like a great dude.
