Biography
As a family medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in disease management and preventive medicine. I believe in using a holistic approach to patient care. I think it’s important to be mindful of where patients live and the unique set of challenges that they face. I am also interested in health policy and public health issues that directly impact urban underserved communities and medically vulnerable patients.
My favorite part about working at Ohio State is the diverse patient population that I get to treat. CarePoint East has a great staff and an excellent support system. I also enjoy teaching medical students and residents how to provide quality health care to underserved communities.
In my free time I enjoy drawing, playing basketball and watching sports.

I completed my family medicine residency training at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and my preventive medicine residency training at Case Western Reserve University before joining The Ohio State University Department of Family and Community Medicine in 2017 as a clinical assistant professor of family medicine. I currently practice at OSU Outpatient Care East. I am interested in working with urban underserved communities and teaching medical students and residents. Additionally, I am interested in health policy and public health issues that directly impact urban underserved communities such as community violence and obesity.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Ahmad is a great doctor. I love being his patient. He is so professional while friendly at the same time. He move pretty fast. If my pharmacist even has a question, he answers me immediately. I have a habit of going to him first even if another doctor prescribes my medicine. He seems to know my chart by memory and can answer questions and explain his reasoning right a way. He responds to my needs, for what feels like, while he's on the move (after hours inc.).

Dr. Ahmad is smart, professional and personable. He also has common sense and LISTENS to what I have to say. Great at answering questions and isn't afraid to say "I don't know." But he will find out. Allows me to say no to certain things but makes sure I understand the risks/complications of my decision. He is quick to respond to MyChart messages and share test results. This is why I drive an hour to my appointments, and why my husband is now his patient too. I have recommended him to multiple people who are looking for a good GP. Please do whatever it takes to keep him on staff !

I have no negative comments about Dr.Ahmad,he listens to my concerns and questions and definitely follows up with clarification. As a Black Gay Man it is definitely a good feeling to have a Medical Professional who cares and listens,that isn't always the case with many Care Providers they can be dismissive and rude towards Communities of Color but not Dr.Ahmad he truly gets it,he and I had this discussion during my initial visit with him last year. Representation truly matters.... I wish this same attitude was present across the board at OSU Medical Center.
