About Me

I chose to specialize in endocrinology because of the unique opportunity to help a wide variety of patients take control of their chronic symptoms. With proper management and follow-up, patients with common conditions like diabetes and thyroid disease can avoid complications and maintain a higher quality of life for the long-term. I enjoy developing relationships with my patients and their families, and it’s a privilege to help them reach their wellness goals.

In my role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in treating endocrine disorders in patients who have undergone solid organ transplants. I also regularly perform thyroid nodule biopsies and manage the hormonal side effects that nodules can cause, and I help patients maintain their bone health.

Ohio State is special because of the access to specialists at the top of their respective fields, who have the expertise to treat the rarest and most complicated cases. I’m proud to work with such an exceptional multidisciplinary team to deliver the best care possible for our patients. I also appreciate the emphasis on medical education here at Ohio State. I instruct medical students who join me during clinical hours, and I deliver lectures as part of the endocrinology curriculum at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Outside of work, I love taking my two young children to the zoo, the pool and the park. I also enjoy listening to audiobooks and gardening.

He was very kind and explained everything that was going on with me to me

Dr. Schneider sent in a resident (Justin Jiang) first to discuss what was going on. This is not uncommon in a teaching hospital and was welcomed. Justin was solid; I could tell he reviewed my medical history and meds prior to the visit. Just like Tina asking why I was there, questioned more information about my medical history dating back long before my medical records were available in OSU's system. Afterwards, Dr. Schneider came in and chatted with me. Just like Tina and Justin, summarized the reason for my visit so they could get a good understanding of the type of care I was in need of and to answer my questions. No question about It, Dr. Schneider and Justin had a discussion about my condition prior to entering the room. He was already very very knowledgeable about when my condition started, how and why it started, the type of care I have been receiving, and already had an idea of how my care should move forward. This is where it gets good. I have a long term disease that was always listed as unspecified. For the first time, Dr. Schneider was able to identify in plain language the most likely cause of my condition and the changes in the condition that have recently occurred. My past endocrinologists have never gone into this area.Dr. Schneider laid out a plan of care for the next few years and also in the short term. In addition, Dr. Schneider gave me some really really great real world assistance in working toward bettering my health due to my condition. Really...he is one of the best providers I have EVER worked with.
