Biography

I chose to specialize in gastroenterology and hepatology because they are rapidly evolving fields. It’s exciting to come to work every day knowing I have the opportunity to provide the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options that will benefit my patients.

My patients trust me to be a partner in their health care journeys. I encourage them to share in the decision making as we plan the best course of treatment for their respective diseases and conditions. Combined with an evidence-based approach, I always make sure each patient fully understands every option available to them.

I regularly perform diagnostic upper endoscopies, colonoscopies and colorectal cancer screenings. I also treat cirrhosis and manage abnormal liver tests. My research is focused on cirrhosis and portal hypertension, particularly on the utility of FibroScan in the management of cirrhosis.

I love practicing in an academic hospital because the collaborative environment fosters curiosity and helps lead to medical advancements. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s gastroenterology division is ranked among the best in the U.S. and I am proud to be a part of this community.

My role at Ohio State includes training future physicians, specifically gastroenterology fellows. Our trainees are extremely professional, smart and compassionate, and I find it gratifying helping them to become excellent doctors.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and visiting new restaurants in town. I also enjoy running and biking.
