Biography

I started practicing outpatient orthopedics in 2012. I spent nearly five years specializing in orthopedic conditions, vestibular interventions and manual therapy. I joined The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in November 2016 in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, providing developmentally friendly care to premature and medically complex infants. I focus on working with infants’ families to build their confidence in handling and caring for their fragile infants as well as bonding with their newborns.

I am General Movement Assessment-certified, which provides her with the assessment skills to detect developmental delays, such as cerebral palsy, early on in an infant’s life. I am member of various evidence-based interdisciplinary committees, with emphasis on improving the developmental outcome of our infants. I am an active member of the National Association of Neonatal Therapists and completed their 15-month IGNITE training course, which provides me a network of clinicians working in this setting and up-to-date research on our practice techniques. I enjoy working with Ohio State’s School of Physical Therapy to provide tours and education to students on the role of the PT in the NICU.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
