About Me
I have been an Ohio State faculty member since 1984. I'm an attending physician at both The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Ohio State East Hospital as well as a professor of clinical emergency medicine at the College of Medicine.
Outside of Ohio State, I'm on the courtesy staff at Nationwide Children's Hospital. I also serve as medical director for MedFlight of Ohio, the critical care transport service in central and southeast Ohio.
I graduated from Duke University and attended the State University of New York at the Buffalo School of Medicine. Following that, I was a member of the first three-year residency class in emergency medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center. I did a one-year research fellowship in resuscitation under the mentorship of Charles Brown, MD.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Werman has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
