Biography
As a gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist, I treat liver conditions and take care of patients before and after they undergo transplantation procedures. I appreciate the opportunity to positively impact the lives of patients who are critically ill and guide them through the transplant process. It is deeply rewarding to help them recover and achieve a better quality of life.
I chose a career in medicine because it allows me to utilize my scientific knowledge to help improve patients’ lives. Every patient is unique, and I work with them to tailor the medical plan to best address their specific needs and goals. I enjoy working closely with my patients to ensure they understand their diagnosis and treatment options and feel comfortable with the direction of their care.
In addition to my clinical work, I have extensive training in biomedical research. My work centers on how liver failure causes dysfunction in other organs, including the lungs and heart. My aim is to increase our understanding of the physiology of liver disease and to develop treatments that can help extremely ill patients reach liver transplantation.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Eng has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
