Biography
As a board-certified adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner, I specialize in the care of patients 65 years and older. My patients typically have complex social and medical needs that require longer visits, comprehensive medication reconciliation and individualized education.
I understand the importance of taking the time to understand my patients’ specific challenges, cultural practices and priorities. I work collaboratively with each person to create sustainable, personalized treatment plans aligned with their needs and values. Nothing brings me more joy than knowing that my patients feel safe, understood and supported.
I was initially inspired to pursue this specialty after caring for my grandmother. I further developed an understanding of the unique needs of aging adults and their families during five years as a bedside nurse and seven years working as a nurse practitioner in assisted living and skilling nursing facilities.
I have been honored to be recognized for my clinical care. I received an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Faculty Award from Ohio State University College of Nursing. I am also a member of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) and American Geriatrics Society.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling and gardening. I like trying new restaurants and experiencing all that Columbus has to offer. Ask me about my dogs, Hudson and Roo.

The doctor was also friendly, competent, and kind. She shared my curiosity about a couple of spots on my inflamed area. I felt cared about and respected.

Jessica Perks is the most thorough, knowledgeable, compassionate and professional provider I have ever seen My son is a physician and stated Jessica is the most outstanding provider he has ever encountered. We both feel Jessica is a credit to OSU and the medical profession. Not only would we recommend and refer anyone to Jessica, she should be any potential patient's first choice.
