About Me

As a cardiology nurse practitioner, I help treat patients with a variety of heart conditions including high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure.

I have a family history of heart disease. Several members of my family have suffered from heart disease, but all of us have been affected by it. This, along with the growing prevalence of heart disease in our society, motivates me in my career.

I believe that individualized care is more than selecting the right test, procedure or treatment for the patient based on their personal circumstances. It also means empowering the patient and their family through education and resources that are compatible with their lifestyle and culture.

I came to Ohio State to experience and participate in educational opportunities, innovative activities and research projects. I’m proud to be part of an elite team of healthcare providers that makes a positive impact on lives every day!

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending my free time reading, gardening and traveling with my friends and family.

Outstanding care from Joanna Keefe. She was totally aware of my medical history; answered all my questions with thorough, patient explanations. She was focused completely on my health issue. It was the first time I had seen her and she inspired confidence that I was in the best care possible. I was grateful to have her for my provider.
