About Me
As an obstetrician/gynecologist, I treat a variety of health concerns within this area of medicine. I am especially interested in those aspects of obstetrics and gynecology that are related to psychological and behavioral issues. These aspects may include sexuality, premenstrual mood disorders or other health-related concerns.
In my practice as a generalist obstetrician/gynecologist, I provide care for women through the full spectrum of their reproductive health needs. This ranges from family planning and pregnancy care to menstrual and menopausal problems.
I enjoy all aspects of care, from annual well-woman visits to delivering babies to performing surgical procedures when they are necessary.
Working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I know that there are many valuable resources available. Whenever necessary, I can refer my patients to the appropriate experts in any field. I know they will take excellent care of any problems my patients may have that are outside of my area of expertise.
In my free time there are many things I like to do, especially taking the time to enjoy a good movie.

Dr. Schaffir is always extremely attentive and recalled specific details about previous concerns. he is an asset to OSU.
Dr. Schaffir is always very attentive and answers all my questions. He takes time to ask me about all my health concerns and I never feel rushed.
my is always great and understanding
Dr. Shaffir is an excellent doctor. He asked many questions about my health and answered all my questions. He always does a thorough examination, taking care to explain everything he is doing.
I feel I can address any health concerns related to this specialty with my provider and he listens to my concerns and addresses any questions I have
Dr. Shafir was very dismissive of my chemical pregnancy. Even my husband felt he mansplained and was dismissive. When he called to tell me the results of the blood test he seemed surprised that I had had a positive home pregnancy test even though that was something discussed at the office. Quite frankly I felt as if he was trying to say that I hadn't even been pregnant. This has been detrimental to my mental health concerning this experience, as it has caused me to doubt my own body.
Dr. Schaffir is very gentle and kind.
Great!!!
Dr. Schaffir always asks about family and shows concern for your personal well being.
