About Me
As an obstetrician/gynecologist, I treat a variety of health concerns within this area of medicine. I am especially interested in those aspects of obstetrics and gynecology that are related to psychological and behavioral issues. These aspects may include sexuality, premenstrual mood disorders or other health-related concerns.
In my practice as a generalist obstetrician/gynecologist, I provide care for women through the full spectrum of their reproductive health needs. This ranges from family planning and pregnancy care to menstrual and menopausal problems.
I enjoy all aspects of care, from annual well-woman visits to delivering babies to performing surgical procedures when they are necessary.
Working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I know that there are many valuable resources available. Whenever necessary, I can refer my patients to the appropriate experts in any field. I know they will take excellent care of any problems my patients may have that are outside of my area of expertise.
In my free time there are many things I like to do, especially taking the time to enjoy a good movie.

No complaints. Great obgyn.
Good
Professional and friendly
Pleasant and provided good advice.
Excellent
Dr. Schaffir is the best. He has excellent bedside manners and cares deeply about his patients.
Didn't want to redo my ultrasound, didn't really care to listen to what I was saying, didn't check the babies heart beat after he brought the machine into the room to do so
Felt comfortable
I was seen for a hysterectomy consult, but I felt like I wasn't heard while explaining my situation. I felt like everything I said was ignored as he tried to push birth control on me the entire visit, despite me declining and giving my reasons as to why.
He is a very good doctor listens and always shows concern.
Omg. Dr Schaffir is absolutely the best. I have been seeing him over 20 years for my gyn needs. I am so comfortable with him. He is so respectful. He listen. He cares. The best.
Provider was awkward. He walked into the room and made very little conversation. I was made to feel like I had to keep carrying the conversation on. He didn't wear gloves or sanitize prior to patient care. It felt as if he belittled me over his thought of wives tales. I felt dumb for coming to my appointment and am left feeling like I wasted my time. He did offer a female medical witness but made it awkward in doing so.
It was excellent
Excellent, He always listens and gives me great advice
He listened. I haven't seen a gynecologist who listened to me in a long while.
My care provider took the time to talk to me about everything and explain step by step what to expect. Again, I felt seen, heard, and cared for at each step in my appointment and what to expect moving forward as well.
He talked as if I was stupid and gaslighted the pain I was experiencing. Also said he would test my discharge and only tested for two stds but never asked if I thought it was possible to have it. He was rude and unhelpful
Very professional and kind. Listened to All my concerns
Friendly, talkative, professional
He was very informative and kind. We didn't see him very long, just for an ultrasound.
I was extremely unhappy with how this appointment went in terms of communication regarding the risks of the procedure. I was not informed of the risks of the procedure at the time that I scheduled it, rather, I was informed immediately prior to having the procedure. This did not provide adequate time for me to process personally or with my husband the significant implications of this procedure on our future and family. I felt this was very inappropriate and left me without a chance to fully ask all of my questions prior to having the procedure. I also felt like the nurse and providers reaction to my getting emotional during the procedure as a result of hearing the potential risks of it were insensitive and unhelpful.
Helpful
Always nice and doesn't rush
Very up to date with my chart
Very professional!
He was amazing as usual always caring and looking out for my best interest with my healthcare
Pleasant and attentive
Nothing bad to describe.
Dr. Schaffir always takes the time to explain everything. We spoke about different options. He is a good listener & understands my medical history. I refer him to everyone I talk to.
He always makes sure I'm taken care of for all my medical concerns & leads me in the right direction to get medical concerns taken care of.
Dr. Schaffir is the best. He is always careful, and thorough during my exams. He talks with me using words I can understand, and tells me what to expect for future visits. He always greets me with a smile.
Careful,friendly and quick
Dr. Schaffir is AWESOME!! He took time to explain things, offered treatment options, and followed up with secure message regarding recent test results. Glad he is my physician
He was professional as always
Always kind, courteous and caring. he always makes me feel as if I am his only patient & ask questions about my family that makes me feel like he cares. He always makes me feel at ease & extremely comfortable with him & his staff.
He was a great listener
Listened well as this was my first visit with him, took time to do exam and used a chaperone without me asking for one.
On time- very empathetic and heard my issue and concerns took time to provide some resources should I need them and exercises to help.
My Dr. is always happy and positive. He makes sure to ask questions and answers all my questions and gives answers the I can understand.
