About Me
As an ophthalmologist, I want to make sure my patients fully understand their conditions so they can take an active role in their health care. After the initial visit, we start a comprehensive treatment plan that might involve medical and traditional surgical therapy in addition to newer laser technologies and minimally invasive surgical techniques, depending on the patient's unique situation. I specialize in treating glaucoma (open angle, angle closure, secondary), cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and dry eye.
At Ohio State, I enjoy the opportunity to be on the cutting edge of therapies, a broad and diverse patient population, and the chance to train future ophthalmologists.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching films with my wife, spending time outdoors and cheering at sporting events with my children.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr Evans gave me more information and care than my other glaucoma specialist has ever done! Dr Evans at least gave me another option to try before eye removal which I do not want to do
Dr Evans was the best. He was patient while I was deciding my options for either distance or monovision. He definitely helped me make the correct choice. He answered all of my questions no matter how many. I have complete confidence in him. He is very smart and makes you comfortable.

All was great
Overall with regards to my first visit with Dr. Evans, he seemed very professional, nice, and understanding when it came to such questions I had that rendered mostly on constant dry eye problems, using preservation - free eye drops, and concerns with 'slight cataracts' found in my eyes (due mostly being Type 1 insulin - dependent diabetic) that haven't shown to have expanded in my eyes - - - -
Nothing bad at all OSU care facilities are great.
Dr. Evans explained the procedure, and explained how much better my vision would be after. He explained I would see him each week and use both drops Rx until he told me to stop antibiotic, and reduce off Prednisone drop. My eye is fine and had no problems.
DR. EVANS was my surgeon for cataract surgery - I am grateful for his attention to my condition - eye-wise & expertise as an eye surgeon.
