This was my first appointment with NP Karen Barnhart (although I've been seeing Dr O'Donnell for 10 years now). This was a follow-up appt for amiodarone induced hyperthyroidism (amiodarone due to AFib). Dr O'Donnell has treated me for this in the past (due to other heart arrhythmias), and this time put me on methimazole. TSH levels have now come back into the normal range.NP Karen Barnhart and I discussed hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis, methimazole and associated side effects. She was very patient with my numerous questions and, as is also the case with Dr O'Donnell appts, I learned a lot. Also during the time leading up to this appointment, I had several OSU MyChart messages with Dr O'Donnell about continuing / discontinuing amiodarone (which my electrophysiologist at Christ Hosp wanted to use for AFib). Dr O'Donnell has always been really great at answering my questions and addressing my concerns using MyChart. Both Dr O'Donnell and NP Barnhart are TOPS !
