About Me

I practice in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, specializing in voice and swallowing disorders. Both of these health conditions also have significant social implications, and it’s very satisfying to be able to restore these abilities to a patient.

Regardless of the reason for a visit, I believe in treating the entire patient. Our multidisciplinary teams work together with the patient as our central focus, developing targeted and tailored treatment plans for each individual. This approach enables us to provide more targeted treatments, fewer side effects and better outcomes.

Ohio State provides access to the highest quality of equipment and the ability to work with world-renowned clinicians and researchers. I appreciate being part of this top-notch team. Serving as Ohio State's medical director of ambulatory services also allows me to contribute to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center outside of my areas of specialty.

When I'm not on the job, I enjoy traveling, reading and attending Ohio State football games.

Dr. Forrest is an amazing doctor. He is patient, caring, and always respectful of my concerns and condition. He is extremely intelligent and is able to explain things in a way that is understandable to me about my condition and what is causing my current symptoms. He Is very easy to talk to and always has time to listen. He also very compassionate. I have referred friends and coworkers to him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Forrest since 1999 and I feel incredibly blessed to have him as my doctor. He has always listened to my concerns and addressed them during mu appointment. He has gone above and beyond when my mom had lost her voice - the poor man had to deal with both of us at the same time - but he took care of her, and she was back to normal in a short time. He also helped me with finding a provider at OSU when they discovered my mom had a brain tumor. We have a wonderful team of providers for her after her surgery, and they were extremely supportive as my mother's condition started to decline as the Lewy Body Dementia took over and we did what we could but could not stop what was to come. We also saw Dr. Scharre and he was so good and so knd. Without the guidance from Dr, Forrest we wouldn't have known which doctor to choose, but we did know we wanted my mom to be treated at OSU. I was recently diagnosed with hepatitis B and Type 2 diabetes and Dr. Forrest looked over my labwork and took the time to explain it to me - something my primary care doctor just didn't do. He's kind, he's patient and he's just a good person. He did have another doctor with him for this visit and she was very good.
