Biography
I am a family medicine physician, specializing in women’s health, peri-menopausal and menopause care, and preventive medicine. My practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center focuses on helping adult women navigate comprehensive primary care, gynecologic services and personalized treatment plans.
I believe high-quality health care starts with understanding each patient’s unique needs and goals. As a family medicine physician with specialized training in women’s health, I’m passionate about providing compassionate, individualized care to women. By combining expertise in gynecology, internal medicine and preventive care, I take a comprehensive approach that addresses both immediate concerns and long-term wellness.
In my menopause and perimenopause clinic, I provide individualized hormone therapy, guidance on bone health and sexual wellness, and treatment for concerns such as vasomotor symptoms, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and genitourinary syndrome of menopause. I also help patients reduce midlife health risks including osteoporosis, sleep disorders and heart disease. I also offer specialized support for individuals with or at increased risk for breast cancer and genetic cancer variants.
In my primary care practice, I provide well-woman exams, cervical cancer screening, contraception counseling and management of chronic health conditions. I perform in-office procedures including IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies, and colposcopy. I also evaluate and treat dermatologic concerns, with performing skin biopsies and cryotherapy when appropriate. My goal is to use shared decision-making and evidence-based medicine to help every patient achieve their best possible health.
I value the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with my patients. I also find fulfillment in teaching and advancing women’s health care – as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine, I enjoy sharing new knowledge, participating in and advocating for the advancement of women’s health research, and contributing to the education of future physicians.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Madison Smith has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
