About Me
As a general internist, my job isn’t just diagnosing and treating diseases, but promoting the physical, mental and emotional health of my patients. I love the breadth of my specialty and knowing that people can come to me with any issue they may have. I work together with my patients to create treatment plans that align with their personality, sentiment and expectations. As a physician, my goal is to build and maintain trust and open communication with my patients.
The best part about working at Ohio State is the people. They’ve helped make my transition here amazing. Everyone from the physicians and nurses to the support staff and administrative leadership is committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and quality education for our medical students and physicians in training.
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my wife, our two amazing daughters and our dog, Ruckus. I enjoy playing disc golf at the awesome courses around Columbus and am an avid marathon runner. I also help write and produce a podcast for medical students and practicing physicians.

Dr. Fried is great. I'm happy he's my PCP. Sometimes it's hard to see him on short notice, but otherwise great bedside manor, and I feel confident in his ability as my PCP.
Very pleased with the care I get from Dr. Fried!
I drive from quite a bit away to see Dr Fried because he is probably one of the best doctors I've come across & I work in health care for someone outside of OSU. He responds to messages & prescription requests usually within hours, maybe 24 hours at most. He always makes sure my job has my paperwork & he's always willing to answer questions & if he doesn't have an answer, he'll at least get me a specialist that does.
Dr Maritin Fried is awesome ! My wife and I are both patients of his . We have 2 major local clinics and hospitals within ten minutes of our home but yet drive 5 hours round trip to see Dr Fried because we fell that he provides superior care . Thanks
Dr. Fried is a great doctor, he educates his patients and is thorough throughout every visit.
Dr. Fried is always great
Love Dr.Fried-he listens and is extremely caring !
I have the utmost confidence in my care provider. He listens well, explains options, then we mutually agree on a treatment.
Dr. Fried is the most caring and knowledgeable physician I have ever met. Typically I'm nervous to go to medical appointments but Dr. Fried makes me feel calm and at ease.
Dr Fried actually he was very sympathetic empathetic and really cared about my feelings. Gave hugs to me and my husband for the loss of our son he is very compassionate.
Dr. Fried was wonderfully he took all the time I needed to talk to him
My care provider asked first if I had any concerns regarding my health. We discussed those issues and then we discussed the other concerns which he had further regarding my health. He took time in our discussion to make sure he understood me and that I understood him.
Spent close to full hour discussing current issues. Listened to my concerns and respected my choices
Very good and excellent
Friendly, concerned, professional, respectful, engaged, treated me like a person not a number
Excellent. Dr Fried is excellent. Very knowledgeable and shows an excellent interest u the ostirnt
Was so impressed how well prepared he was about my medical issues. Had already ordered blood work ahead of time. Excellent doctor!
Dr. Was friendly, but was not thrilled to have to see another therapist and schedule another appointment with Dr. Fried
Dr. Fried is exceptional!
Excellent thoughtful evidence-based discussion of my medical problems.
Dr. Fried is amazing!
Great
I've always had great experiences with Dr. Fried. He takes time to talk to me, and I really appreciate that.
Dr. Fried is one of only a few of my doctors who make me feel like there is time in the exam room to discuss my health issues. He answers questions promptly on MyChart, and it's sometimes late at night! - so I try to only ask really important questions. I really appreciate that he is my primary care doctor.
Good listener. Caring Knowledgeable. Would recommend.
Very professional.
I love Dr. Fried. Kind, caring, knowledgeable and also a great listener.
Long wait time. Didn't really listen to anything I was saying. He was more concerned about an allergy challenge for my pencillin allergy. Expressed I wasn't interested but he placed an order anyways. Said he would run a pregnancy test for my UTI, he never did. I don't think he even really knew what I was there for. Waited over an hour.
Dr. Fried is a very good doctor probably the best I've ever had in my 63 years. Very good with follow-p and allows extra time during my visits so all my questions and concerns are addressed. Class act!
He listened to my concerns and other health issues and we developed a plan together.
Dr. Fried spent a lot of time with me because we needed to cover a number of issues.I felt that he was totally focused on me and not rushing to get to the next patient.
Dr Fried is an excellent caring physician.Doesn't over react but acts on the important.Best doc I've had in my 65+ urs
Awesome!
Knows my history, helpful and caring.
Always the best, I have absolute confidence Dr Fried will analyze any situation, talk about alternatives, and come to a mutual decision.
He had already read my chart, explained my blood work, and took time to listen to me and ask questions
Dr. Fried listened intently to all my concerns. Answered all questions to my satisfaction. His demeanor is very calming. He cares about the overall mental & physical wellbeing of his patients. Does NOT overreact to my concerns by ordering a lot of tests Only does what's absolutely necessary.
Best care provider I've ever had; answers all questions & concerns; very empathetic and caring; very efficient.
If I could rate my care provider better than a 10, I would.
My provider was wonderful before, during and after the appointment. He took the time to listen to my concerns and did not rush me. He showed genuinely concern and involved me in the decision making process of my health plan. He continued to follow up via MyChart and submitted my fmla forms immediately. His responsiveness on MyChart is quite fast. He is fantastic and I love having him as a provider.
Who is the best and it's very good when you trust your doctor and I trust him with everything. He's tell me about.
Doctor Martin Fried is a very good doctor. He listens to your concerns and always knows the best course of action. This is a doctor OSU should be very proud that he is on staff.
Couldn't ask for a better, Dr.
Dr Fried is an amazing practitioner. He is thorough, extremely knowledgeable, personable, and caring. I have a complex medical presentation, which he approaches with curiosity and careful analysis. I always feel that I receive all the time I need, including prompt answers to MyChart inquiries. I am grateful to have him as my physician.
Excellent demeanor and competent
Spent a lot of time with me; followed up a few days later by telephone; very familiar with my records
Incredible follow up and compassionate provider. Sees me as person rather than a patient.
