About Me
As a general internist, my job isn’t just diagnosing and treating diseases, but promoting the physical, mental and emotional health of my patients. I love the breadth of my specialty and knowing that people can come to me with any issue they may have. I work together with my patients to create treatment plans that align with their personality, sentiment and expectations. As a physician, my goal is to build and maintain trust and open communication with my patients.
The best part about working at Ohio State is the people. They’ve helped make my transition here amazing. Everyone from the physicians and nurses to the support staff and administrative leadership is committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and quality education for our medical students and physicians in training.
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my wife, our two amazing daughters and our dog, Ruckus. I enjoy playing disc golf at the awesome courses around Columbus and am an avid marathon runner. I also help write and produce a podcast for medical students and practicing physicians.

Dr. Fried is most of the most caring and brilliant physicians I've known. He is steady , calm and always thinking of my best interests. I have referred my friends and family to him. In fact he is the PCP for two of my friends and couple more family members. Others want to go to him as well, but openings are hard to come by for he is an excellent physician and excellent person.

Dr. Fried had a perfect memory of all my previous visits, was concerned about both my physical and mental health and had a complete knowledge of my current tests and suggestions for future tests to keep me healthy.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr.Fried in this small a space. He is extremely knowledgeable, caring, thorough, and trustworthy. He offers all the time needed to answer any and all questions, despite the fact that I have a complicated medical history and current status. He shows humanity and humor in all of his interactions. Dr. Fried is great. I'm happy he's my PCP. Sometimes it's hard to see him on short notice, but otherwise great bedside manor, and I feel confident in his ability as my PCP.

I drive from quite a bit away to see Dr Fried because he is probably one of the best doctors I've come across & I work in health care for someone outside of OSU. He responds to messages & prescription requests usually within hours, maybe 24 hours at most. He always makes sure my job has my paperwork & he's always willing to answer questions & if he doesn't have an answer, he'll at least get me a specialist that does.
Dr Maritin Fried is awesome ! My wife and I are both patients of his . We have 2 major local clinics and hospitals within ten minutes of our home but yet drive 5 hours round trip to see Dr Fried because we fell that he provides superior care . Thanks

My care provider asked first if I had any concerns regarding my health. We discussed those issues and then we discussed the other concerns which he had further regarding my health. He took time in our discussion to make sure he understood me and that I understood him.

Dr. Fried is one of only a few of my doctors who make me feel like there is time in the exam room to discuss my health issues. He answers questions promptly on MyChart, and it's sometimes late at night! - so I try to only ask really important questions. I really appreciate that he is my primary care doctor.
