About MeAs a general internist, my job isn’t just diagnosing and treating diseases, but promoting the physical, mental and emotional health of my patients. I love the breadth of my specialty and knowing that people can come to me with any issue they may have. I work together with my patients to create treatment plans that align with their personality, sentiment and expectations. As a physician, my goal is to build and maintain trust and open communication with my patients.
The best part about working at Ohio State is the people. They’ve helped make my transition here amazing. Everyone from the physicians and nurses to the support staff and administrative leadership is committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and quality education for our medical students and physicians in training.
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my wife, our two amazing daughters and our dog, Ruckus. I enjoy playing disc golf at the awesome courses around Columbus and am an avid marathon runner. I also help write and produce a podcast for medical students and practicing physicians.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/26/2018, Dr. Fried has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
