I am a cardiac surgeon at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. My clinical interests are general cardiac surgery, including coronary artery disease and valvular heart diseases. My area of interest is advanced heart failure therapies, including heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support to include extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
I believe in a patient-centered approach. I see every patient as a member of my family, and I strive to treat them with utmost reverence. I am honored and excited to work as an associate professor of Surgery, and as the director of Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support, here at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
I have authored more than 40 peer-reviewed journal publications, and a book on cardiopulmonary transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. I am an associate editor for the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
I have great interest in teaching, training and mentoring. I truly believe that teaching and training is the heart of what we do on a day-to-day basis as physicians and is of huge importance in nurturing future generations of physicians.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my partner and young child and playing with our two cats.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
