Biography
I am a gastroenterologist who specializes in caring for patients with esophageal disorders. I have a particular interest in conditions including eosinophilic esophagitis, GERD, Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal strictures, and esophageal motility disorders such as achalasia. I helped launch the Comprehensive Esophageal Health Center at Ohio State Outpatient Care New Albany, which provides centralized and specialized care for patients with esophageal diseases.
I strive every day to provide the best patient-centered, evidence-based, individualized care to each person who comes to see me. My patients can trust that I will listen to their concerns and formulate treatment plans with shared decision-making. I love the opportunities at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to collaborate with experts outside of gastroenterology and provide interdisciplinary care that benefits my patients.
My research interests include Barrett’s esophagus, eosinophilic esophagitis, esophageal dysmotility, and dysphagia. I have published manuscripts and presented abstracts at national and regional conferences on these topics.
Working at an academic medical center also allows me to pursue my passion for medical education, teaching and mentoring. I am a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I also serve as an assistant program director for the Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition fellowship.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and trying new foods.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Megan Chan has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
