Biography

As a family nurse practitioner specializing in obstetrics, I’m passionate about providing exceptional care to women during pregnancy and postpartum. I’m part of the Maternal Fetal Medicine team at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. My prior experience includes 12 years as a labor and delivery nurse here at Ohio State and three years as a nurse practitioner with the Ob/Gyn department.

I strongly value the provider-patient relationship. Sometimes with pregnancy, the plan of care changes and the process can be scary. My goal is to make sure my patients understand all of their options, along with the benefits and risks, and empower them to have a role in deciding how we move forward together as a team. I emphasize using the most up-to-date guidelines and research when developing care plans for each patient.

It’s important to meet patients where they are and focus on what we can do today. Pregnancy, especially high-risk, can be overwhelming and I strive to offer my patients as much empathy and emotional support as possible. I’m also passionate about connecting patients with community resources that’ll help support a healthy pregnancy for mom and baby.

In my free time, you’ll find me cooking up a storm in my kitchen, exercising and spending time with my husband and two kids. We enjoy traveling and staying active with summer and winter activities.

Honestly, my experience with my provider hasn't been good. My appointments always feel rushed, and anytime I bring up symptoms, she just says, "that's pregnancy for you," without offering any real explanation or reassurance. Even though I'm high risk, she hasn't seemed emotionally invested or engaged in my care. I've basically had to educate myself about pregnancy because she doesn't explain much, and the nurses have been far more helpful and involved than she has. It was also really upsetting that she didn't tell me she wouldn't be delivering my baby until I was already 37 weeks. At this point, I don't feel comfortable with her at all, but it feels too late to switch providers.
