Biography
I am a general surgeon and the medical director of the Robotic General Surgery Program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I am passionate about this field because it allows me to integrate advanced therapeutic endoscopy and surgical robotic techniques, which are minimally invasive and can improve patient outcomes.
I chose a career in medicine because it offers the rare opportunity to combine technical precision with the privilege of helping people heal. As a surgeon, I am drawn to the direct, tangible impact we can make in restoring a patient’s quality of life – whether that means relieving pain, improving function or helping someone return to activities they thought they’d lost forever.
My practice focuses on advanced robotic and minimally invasive surgery, including complex hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction. These procedures often allow patients to recover faster, experience less discomfort and return to normal life sooner. I believe that innovation in surgery must always serve one purpose: better outcomes and experiences for the patient. That philosophy guides every decision I make in the operating room and every conversation I have in the clinic.
My patients can expect a collaborative, transparent relationship. I take time to explain all surgical and nonsurgical options so that each person understands their choices and feels confident in the plan we develop together. My team and I also focus heavily on preparation and recovery, because excellent outcomes depend on careful attention before and after surgery, not just during it.
I view every patient as a partner in their own care. By combining leading-edge surgical techniques with clear communication and compassionate support, I strive to ensure that each person I treat not only achieves a successful surgical result but also feels fully informed, respected and cared for every step of the way.
