Biography
I have worked with a wide scope of individuals in the clinic, from adolescent athletes through the geriatric population, including time as an exercise physiologist prior to my physical therapy training. I primarily conduct Functional Capacity Evaluations. My clinical interests include the return to strength and conditioning work after an injury, sport-specific rehabilitation and orthopedics.
Beyond the outpatient setting, I have significant clinical experience in both the acute and inpatient realms of physical therapy, allowing me insight into the patients’ overall progression from the hospital setting though the outpatient clinic. In addition to my clinical training and experience, I have completed an additional degree in Health Informatics. My goal with this additional coursework is to develop methods to optimize the patient-therapist interaction and improve clinical outcomes via the utilization of data and technology.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Nicholas Kynyk has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
