Physical Therapist
I am Rachel Basting, DPT, a licensed physical therapist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in vestibular rehabilitation and orthopedic rehabilitation. My physical therapy practice focuses on helping patients improve balance, reduce dizziness and pain, recover from injury or surgery, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
I chose a career in physical therapy after experiencing minor sports-related injuries in high school and seeing the positive impact that rehabilitation can have on recovery and quality of life. I enjoy working one-on-one with patients to help them achieve their goals and return to their prior level of function.
As an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist, I treat patients with a wide range of conditions. I have expertise in vestibular therapy, cervicogenic dizziness, headaches and migraines, manual therapy, upper extremity injuries, lower extremity injuries, low back pain, postoperative care, balance training and the McKenzie Method®. I create individualized treatment plans that address each patient’s unique needs and help them move with greater confidence and comfort.
I see patients at the Upper Arlington Bob Crane Community Center and enjoy caring for people of all ages and activity levels. My background includes acute care, sports medicine, industrial rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation, allowing me to draw from a broad range of experiences when developing treatment strategies. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Ohio Physical Therapy Association.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking, exploring new parks, and spending time with my family and dogs.
Please note: Not all physicians schedule patients at each listed location.
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Rachel Basting has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
