Biography
I am an internal medicine physician who has been focused on providing the best primary care possible for more than two decades. I emphasize preventive medicine, treat acute illnesses, and help my patients manage chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia.
What I most enjoy about patient care is the opportunity to build partnerships with people and work directly with them to improve their health and wellbeing. My patients can always expect high quality, compassionate care that is tailored to their unique needs and values.
My research has focused on addressing the risk of falls, strategies to improve dementia assessments, and the importance of value-based care. I have presented my findings at medical conferences and published articles in the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Journal of Managed Care.
I’m proud to continue my career at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and help educate the next generation of physicians. It’s deeply rewarding to see residents and medical students develop into thoughtful doctors and help instill a strong passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife, two children and our two dogs. I enjoy photography and astronomy.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Robert Stone has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

I had many questions regarding a recent hospital admission and Dr Stone went above and beyond explaining everything to me. He reassured me I was recovering well and put my mind to ease about my concerns.

Very good Experience
Very through
Nothing specific, but I appreciate Dr. Stone's treatment and kind approach.
Dr. Stone was awesome. He listened to me and he asked me questions about my health and medications. Surprisingly, he included me in the decision-making process about my treatment. Dr. Stone has a great bedside manner. I was upset when I got my diagnosis and he gave me reassurance and he was very calm. One of the best doctors I have ever experienced with OSU
Very satisfied
Dr. Stone was excellent. I researched him prior to scheduling and waited for almost a year for an initial appt.
Took time to listen and developed a treatment plan that took my history into consideration. And most importantly, it worked.
I was impressed with his mannerism, knowledge and showed he cared. Straight to the point.very professional. The overall care was great especially when you already don't feel good. Thank you.
Dr. Stone is a good listener who explained things well and is very caring.
Very kind and informative
No issues.Dr Stone was the only Dr I met during my health issue that called on the phone to check on how I was doing. Kinda old school I guess but made me feel like I mattered.
