Biography

I am a physical therapist (PT), specializing in neurological rehabilitation. My physical therapy practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center focuses on helping people recover function, improve mobility and maximize independence after neurological conditions and events including stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), spinal cord injury, brain injury, concussion, vestibular disorders and functional neurological disorders.

I chose a career in neurologic physical therapy because I am passionate about helping people regain confidence and independence in their daily lives. I understand that changes in the nervous system can affect nearly every aspect of a person's function, and I am committed to helping patients navigate those challenges while achieving their personal goals.

My approach to care centers on patient education, collaboration and individualized treatment planning. I believe patients are most successful when they understand their condition and the purpose behind their therapy program. By helping patients understand why we focus on specific exercises, activities and interventions, I empower them to apply what they learn in therapy to their everyday lives and continue making progress outside the clinic.

As a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy, I specialize in neurological rehabilitation and vestibular rehabilitation. I also utilize innovative technologies, including functional electrical stimulation and body weight support systems, to help facilitate recovery and maximize functional outcomes.

Consulting and related relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
